Upcoming Change: Distraction Action

A change to the Distraction Action field for drivers and non-motorists has been scheduled for January 1st, 2024 alongside MUCR version 2024-1. Option 101, "Manually operating a device (e.g., texting, dialing, playing game, etc.) will be removed and replaced with the following options:

• 200 – Manually operating device – texting
• 201 – Manually operating device – dialing
• 202 – Manually operating device – playing game
• 203 – Manually operating device – social media
• 298 – Manually operating device – other action (Will require an Other description)
• 299 – Manually operating device – unknown action
