New Field: Power Unit
A new variable was recently added to eCrash (v1.6.0.2789) to distinguish the difference between tractor (i.e., Power Unit) and trailer damage. You will notice this field in the damage section of the report. The "power unit" is the unit of the vehicle that has the engine. A car/vehicle will be the power unit. It does not refer to the engine/battery. Anything someone is actually driving would be considered a power unit, so in a single car crash where the vehicle sustained damage anywhere you would select "Yes" from the dropdown list and then mark areas on the damage diagram.
Example of selection if the vehicle is damaged regardless if trailer is present:
In a tractor trailer or vehicle towing a trailer crash where only the trailer is damaged, you would add the trailer to the report, select "Yes" to the question at the bottom of the trailer information section, and then select "No" to the "Power Unit Damaged" question in the damage section. Then proceed to complete the point of impact and damage areas on the diagram.
